# The SWISS MEDTECH Galaxy transforms into the Medical Device Galaxy
**A bigger home for the medical device community - open to the world**
Over the past months, the SWISS MEDTECH Galaxy has grown beyond what its original name suggested.
Along the journey, we have seen companies, experts, researchers and organizations from across the **medical device ecosystem** joining the Galaxy. We have also started building new collaborations with organizations and associations across the MedTech and Biotech landscape - collaborations that go beyond the original scope of the Galaxy.
One thing has become increasingly clear:
**The medical device community needs a common home that is bigger than Switzerland and broader than a single association or network.**
That is why we are taking the next step.

## Welcome to the Medical Device Galaxy
The **SWISS MEDTECH Galaxy is becoming the Medical Device Galaxy**.
This is not simply a name change. It represents the expansion of the community, the scope and the ambition of the ecosystem.
The Medical Device Galaxy brings together the people and organizations involved in developing, manufacturing, regulating, researching and bringing medical devices to market, across disciplines, organizations and borders.
### The doors are now open to the world
From today, experts and organizations from around the world can join the Innofuse ecosystem through a free version of the Medical Device Galaxy.
This new access model allows companies with limited budgets, independent professionals, researchers and experts from universities, institutes and other organizations to become part of the community and benefit from the expertise, knowledge exchange and matchmaking opportunities within Innofuse.
Innovation should not depend on the size of your budget.
We want to create a common home where expertise can be discovered, exchanged and connected and where valuable knowledge can reach the people who need it.
Free access. Same standards.
Opening the Medical Device Galaxy to a free version does not mean lowering the standards of the ecosystem.
The legal framework remains at the core of Innofuse.
Every participant, whether joining through a paid license or through the free version, enters the same legally safe environment and is required to accept and comply with the applicable Innofuse legal framework.
This is fundamental to how Innofuse operates.
# Free access does not mean free from responsibility.
The same principles of confidentiality, professional conduct and responsible participation apply to everyone in the ecosystem.
Our quality checks remain in place. We will continue to carefully review and curate participants to ensure that the Medical Device Galaxy remains a high-quality professional ecosystem where meaningful connections and trustworthy expertise can develop.
Our ambition is to create the most valuable and accessable community possible.

# Introducing the Medical Device Expert Pool
With the expansion of the Galaxy, we are also launching **a new “star” in the galaxy**:
## The Medical Device Expert Pool
Developing a medical device and successfully bringing it to market requires expertise across a wide range of highly specialized disciplines.
The** Medical Device Expert Pool consists of real-world, hands-on and proven experts from the industry**.
Each expert contributes deep knowledge in one or several specific fields and brings practical experience from the realities of developing and commercializing medical devices.
From the industry to the industry.
These **experts will share their knowledge through affordable, specialized training, contribute and administrate free to access Communities of Practice around their respective fields of expertise**.
The goal is to make deep, practical industry knowledge more accessible, helping companies and professionals shorten learning curves, avoid common mistakes and gain access to expertise that is often difficult to find.
## The first expert cohort
The first cohort is already being assembled.
**16 carefully selected experts have been hand-picked by Innofuse** to form the first generation of the Medical Device Expert Pool.
Their profiles, areas of expertise and upcoming training sessions **will be announced soon**.
## One ecosystem. More expertise. Fewer boundaries.
The evolution from SWISS MEDTECH Galaxy → Medical Device Galaxy reflects what we have learned from the community:
The challenges of medical device innovation do not stop at national borders and neither should the exchange of expertise.
We are opening the doors wider, bringing more disciplines together and creating a common home for the people and organizations shaping the future of medical devices.
A home where companies can find expertise.
Where experts can share knowledge.
Where communities can form around real-world challenges.
And where the next generation of medical device innovation can emerge from the collision of different minds and disciplines.
**Welcome to the Medical Device Galaxy.
Welcome to Innofuse.**
_matching minds. inspiring innovation._

Medical Device Galaxy

Five organizations. Five perspectives. One open conversation about Innovation Management.

Last Wednesday, we hosted the first session of our new Honest Talk series on Innovation Management at ORBIZ Josef in Zurich.

The idea behind Honest Talk is simple: create a space where experienced professionals can openly share what they actually do not what is supposed to work on paper.

In a carefully selected, closed round, five experts from different organizations came together to discuss their approaches to Innovation Management. The conversation covered processes, tools, structures, experiences and practical challenges—but most importantly, what is working in their organizations, what is not, and why.

What made the session special was the openness of the exchange.

Different corporate realities collided in the room, creating exactly the kind of discussion that is often difficult to have in conventional conferences or networking events. Participants could speak transparently about their experiences, challenge established approaches, and share lessons learned without the need to present a polished success story.

The result was a highly valuable exchange of expertise. Ideas, practices and experiences from one organization suddenly became useful input for another.

**From MedTech and beyond**

The first Honest Talk brought together perspectives from the MedTech environment. But this is only the beginning.

The session marks the starting point of a series of Honest Talks that will bring together Innovation Managers from different industries and domains. Upcoming sessions will include perspectives from ICT, Biotech and other high-tech industries.

The goal is not to create another networking event. It is to build a recurring forum where people responsible for innovation can learn from each other, compare approaches and openly discuss the realities behind innovation management.

**Small group. High energy. Real exchange.**

We deliberately kept the group small and hand-selected. This created the right atmosphere for a focused and personal discussion and the energy in the room was remarkable.

The setting helped, too.

Hosted at ORBIZ Josef, Innofuse's second physical co-creation space in Zurich, the workshop had everything needed for an inspiring evening: an excellent location, professional equipment, great catering and a relaxed environment that made genuine conversation easy.

But ultimately, it was the people who made the evening.

Five corporate perspectives. Different experiences. Different approaches. One shared willingness to learn.

That is what Honest Talk is about.

And this was only the first conversation.

The next Honest Talk is already in the making.

**The conversation continues on Innofuse**

As with all sessions in the Honest Talk series, the key takeaways and valuable insights from the discussion will be shared with the participants on the Innofuse Platform, within the dedicated Community of Practice.

This allows the exchange to continue beyond the physical workshop, giving participants the opportunity to revisit key insights, build on each other’s experiences and keep the conversation alive within the community.

Meet the Innofuse Ecosystem / August 26th 2026

Innofuse Networking Apéro Zürich

**New feature at Innofuse puts everyone in an inventor’s shoes.**

A new way to explore innovation landscapes through AI-powered patent intelligence.

Patent research has always been a critical part of innovation, and at the same time one of the most complex, slow, and expert-heavy steps in the process.
Thousands of documents. Manual searches. Fragmented insights. Long cycles before anything becomes usable.

We kept coming back to one simple question:
Why is this still so hard, and why is it only accessible to specialists?
Our answer is equally simple: It shouldn’t be.

The goal is straightforward:
Anyone should be able to explore ideas, technologies, and innovation potential within minutes, not weeks, and at a cost affordable to all.
But building something like this is not just about applying generative AI.
LLMs alone are not reliable enough for this space. Hallucinations and lack of deterministic accuracy make them risky when decisions actually matter.

And when dealing with sensitive innovation data, there is no room for compromise on trust, security, and data protection.

So this quickly becomes something else:
Not just an AI application, but an expert system challenge.
A system that can reliably retrieve, process, and aggregate global patent intelligence into insights that are accurate, explainable, and decision ready.

Because innovation decisions are too important for guesswork.
They need clarity. They need trust. They need precision.

That’s what the new Innovation Landscape Report is about.
A system to make patent intelligence usable, understandable, and accessible for everyone.

Innovation Landscape Report

New Feature Launch

We are excited to welcome ICT-Scouts as a new member of our innovation ecosystem.

Innovation does not begin in startups, universities, or corporations alone. It begins when curiosity is sparked, talents are discovered, and young people are encouraged to pursue their ideas. This is exactly where ICT-Scouts makes a remarkable impact.

We firmly believe that the next generation of innovators deserves every opportunity to unlock its potential. If we want to shape the future of our technology and innovation landscape, we need to invest in talent early and foster enthusiasm for technology, digital skills, and entrepreneurship from a young age.

By welcoming ICT-Scouts into our ecosystem, we are strengthening our commitment to building a thriving community that supports innovators at every stage of their journey, from first discovery to breakthrough innovation.

Together, we are empowering the talents of today and shaping the innovations of tomorrow.

Welcome to our innovation ecosystem, ICT-Scouts! 🚀

The future of our innovation ecosystem starts today

Welcome ICT-Scouts

We are excited to announce that Innofuse will power the digital extension of the Swiss Software Festival 2026, one of the key gathering points for the Swiss software industry, bringing together more than 600 decision-makers, software companies, startups, and technology partners.

To create a truly connected experience, we have built the Swiss Software Festival Galaxy on Innofuse, a dedicated digital ecosystem that extends the value of the event far beyond a single day.

The Galaxy enables a new layer of interaction and continuity around the festival:

🚀 Intelligent matchmaking between participants, speakers, and partners
🤝 Meaningful networking across organizations and industries
💡 Access to discussions, knowledge sharing, and expert communities
🔄 Dedicated spaces where all event TechTracks continue to live on, allowing deeper exchange and collaboration after the festival
🌐 Extended engagement for up to three months beyond the physical event

Our vision is simple: events should not end when attendees leave the venue. By combining the physical experience with a living digital ecosystem, we help communities stay connected, keep conversations around the TechTracks active, and unlock new opportunities long after the event itself.

We are proud to support the Swiss Software Festival team in building the event’s digital twin and creating a platform where people, ideas, and technology communities remain connected beyond the event day.

We look forward to welcoming the community on June 24, 2026.
